Membership
Botanical artists are invited to take up Associate Membership of The Florilegium Society.
On joining Associate Members receive a membership pack which contains:
- A membership card.
- A programme of meetings.
- Guidelines for obtaining plant cuttings.
- Guidelines for the presentation of work for selection to The Florilegium Archive.
All Associate Members are encouraged to put forward one or more botanical illustrations per year, at the AGM in April, for selection to The Florilegium Archive. Once a selected painting has been donated to the archive the artist becomes a Full Member of the Society. After three pieces of work have been accepted the Member becomes a Fellow. The Florilegium Archive is stored under archival conditions at the University of Sheffield Library.
The programme of lectures and workshops arranged for members of the Society includes four main meetings, presented by distinguished artists and lecturers, and five informal painting days. Meetings are held in the Dorothy Fox Education Centre in the Gardens on Mondays, the first in the month when possible.
New members are always welcome. If you are a practising botanical artist and would like further details of the Society please contact:
